Sound Postal ships with UPS, USPS, FedEx, and DHL. The following items are prohibited or restricted by one or more of these carriers and cannot be accepted for shipment.

- Explosives, fireworks, and ammunition
- Flammable liquids, gases, and solids (gasoline, lighter fluid, propane)
- Illegal drugs and controlled substances
- Counterfeit goods or currency
- Human remains or body parts
- Live animals (except certain carriers with advance arrangements)
- Hazardous waste and biohazardous materials
- Radioactive materials
⚠️ Restricted / Carrier-Specific Rules
- Lithium batteries — standalone batteries require special packaging and labeling
- Firearms and firearm parts — require special licensing and carrier approval
- Alcohol — requires shipper license; not accepted at retail locations
- Tobacco and e-cigarettes — heavily restricted by all carriers
- Aerosols — only non-flammable types permitted with proper labeling
- Dry ice — permitted with proper labeling and quantity limits
- Perfumes and colognes — flammable; quantity limits apply
- Matches and lighters — most types prohibited
- Medical marijuana and CBD products — restricted; varies by state
- Perishable food items — accepted with appropriate packaging only
- Currency, cash, and precious metals — not recommended; limited liability
- Recalled products — cannot ship items recalled by the CPSC
🔍 Right to Inspect
- Sound Postal and all carriers reserve the right to open and inspect any package at any time without prior notice
- Carriers including UPS, USPS, FedEx, and DHL may inspect packages for safety, security, or compliance with shipping regulations
- USPS, as a government agency, may open mail and packages under federal authority without a warrant in certain circumstances
- By tendering a package for shipment, you consent to inspection by Sound Postal staff and the selected carrier

- Carrier liability limits apply — we recommend purchasing declared value coverage for high-value items
- Sound Postal is not responsible for items confiscated or returned due to undisclosed contents
- If you are unsure whether your item is shippable, please ask our staff before completing your request
